NIGERIA Fashion Week 2014 with Agatha Ruiz de la Prada


 
With well over 103 local and international brands participating in both the runway shows and exhibition, the Nigeria Fashion Week 2014 will not be forgotten for a long while.

The grand opening of the NFW took place at Oriental hotel, Victoria Island with 8 designers showing their collections. An­other 8 designers took their turns on the runway in the evening. The highlight of the Nigeria Fashion Week 2014 was the appearance of the renowned Agatha Ruiz de la Prada as the special guest design­er. Although she arrived Lagos on time for the event, she couldn’t show her collections because her garments got stuck in NAHCO’s warehouse due to a major feud between NAHCO officials and the Nigerian Customs Service .
In her speech, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada promised to be back in Nigeria during NFW 2015 to show her collections and work out possible collaboration with some Nigerian designers.
Some of the designers who par­ticipated included Zizi Cardow, Our Heritage Clothing, Klassy La­dies, Cben Touch Fashion, Model­la B, Zapel, Chip Odina, Niki Kay, Luasey House of Designs, Vince Antoni, Lumiere Couture,Grazee, Keto Couture, Tangerine, Tolumi, Simply Glamorous, Osuare, Aw­eyan, Joadre, Designs by Fortess, Add-On Accessories and Theo­dora.
Da Viva Collection featured 4 budding designers who used Da Viva fabrics to create a collection each.
Partners for the Nigeria Fash­ion Week 2014 included Oriental Hotel, Da Viva, Escade Ventures Limited, Karrington Limited, Carlo Rosssi, Kia Motors, SAKR, Carthago, Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne, The Millennium Residence Hotel, Zasarii Di Lusso, Design Essentials, Studio 24, Lacasera, Tudor House and media houses.The Nigeria Fashion Week was organized and packaged by Legendary Gold Limited, the fore­most fashion promotion company in Africa.
